70's Night with the 'Time Bandits' - Friday 16 November 2018

Our next big extravaganza is the 70's Night when Hellifield's very own 'Time Bandits' will be performing.   An ideal opportunity to get dressed up and reminisce about how young and hip you used to look back in the 70's.  Reach to the back of the wardrobe and get dressed in an outfit of the time.  There will be a prize for 'best-dressed'. This fun evening is taking place on Friday 16th November 2018.  Doors open at 7.15 pm and performance is at 8.00 pm.  This is a 'bring your own' nibbles and refreshment event.

Tickets are £10 and include a pie and pea supper (vegetarian and gluten free pie option is available).  If you wish to reserve a ticket, contact Karen Dunwoodie Tel:  01729 851070, or via our:

Art and Architecture Lecture - Friday 9 November 2018

Building on the last session, Jenny Birch will outline the beginnings to the foundations of modernism.  This talk takes us to the brink of modern art - from John Singer Sargent to Pablo Picasso and will outline a vital stage in the development and definition of art itself.  Tickets are £3.00 on the door and there is a free glass of wine/juice.  For more information, contact Jenny on Tel:  01729 850385 or email: jenny464@btinternet.com.

Christmas Event - Saturday 8th December 2019

The Christmas event will, on this occasion, form an adapted 'Murder Mystery', whereby the audience will have to guess 'Who Dunnit'.  There will be a three-course meal and local favourite singing duo 'Ian and Jane' will finish off the evening in style.  This is a 'bring your own nibbles and alochol' event.  Tickets are £10 from Karen Dunwoodie Tel:  01729 851070, or via our:

DAMAGE TO VILLAGE HALL (INSTITUTE) BUILDING

Good news - the Village Hall (Institute) is once more open for business.  Following the event of a tree falling on our roof on Friday 12th October the building has now been made completely safe and secure.  Building repairs do still need to take place but at this point in time the building is back in full use. The Trustees apologise for any inconvenience to the users of this community facility, whilst the tree was removed and urgent repairs undertaken.

Coffee Mornings are held on most Saturday mornings from 10am to 11.30am, usually helping to raise funds for local charitable causes.  Contact Sheila Swinbank on 01729 850458 if you wish to book a coffee morning next year. The next planned coffee mornings are being run as follows:
